Advent Calendar
The Advent Calendar box was painted black and script randomly stamped in gold ink over this. The drawers and inside of the box were covered in paper and inked. Nine drawers were left out as a design feature. The chipboard numbers were inked in gold and aged with walnut. The central space was used like a shadow box. The houses were designed to fit the shelf and a tea light inside - so the flickering showed through the cellophane windows. December was coloured with ink and Perfect pearls powder. Alcohol ink coloured the lights and distress embossing powder 'rusted' the lock and key. The cut out holly was used to embellish the drawers and shadow box in multiple layers.
Ports Mini Album
An old stamp album was used as the base for this book. The cover is collaged, stamped, inked and distressed. The small compass has been heat embossed as also the key - with distress embossing powder then inked. A variety of textures were used - shiny (metal , glassine), smooth (inked curled papers), rough (key), as well as layering to give interest and dimension.
Inside pages
Bar Harbor : uses inking, stamping, Glimmer mist and masks to build the background. The leaves are made from kraft glassine and alcohol ink before being die cut.
Portland: uses inking, and stamping with paint and ink to create the background. The chipboard title has been inked in 3 colours then coated in Glossy Accents.
Boston: uses Core'dinations cardstock, embossing plates and sanding to create the backround. The white chipboard title has been altered by stamping, sanding and inking. The overlay was made by stamping on acetate.
Halifax: uses kraft resist paper and Distress inks to build up the coloured background.
Family Shadow Box
This shadow box uses a diorama effect to build multiple layers - the outside of the frame, the back of the glass, flat on the backround and and raised of it. patterned paper has been used to create 3 D flowers and leaves along with wired and flat flowers. Glimmer has been added by inking and misting chipboard, with rhinestone swirls and colouring rhinestone brads.
